Accidents Occurring Far Too Often
We may not have the largest population in the world but we do still consume one of the largest amounts of gasoline worldwide. It is estimated that Americans drive more than 8.27 billion miles a day. This is about 33 miles per day for every car that is on the road. This is a staggering statistic and means that we are much more at risk to have auto accidents then most places in the world.
In the United States alone someone dies every 13 minutes in car accidents and 115 people die every day. This number is ridiculous and shows no sign of decreasing with the amount of people who use our roads on a daily basis. A lot of our roads in America have not been upgraded in decades and were not meant to handle the volume that they do handle today. Even with advances in modern day technology the roads are not much safer.
The biggest problem we face on the roads besides the roads not being able to handle the number of vehicles that use it daily is human error. Yes there are plenty of cases where the car may have some sort of defect but more than likely accidents are due to someone doing something wrong while driving. There are many times on the road when someone is trying to catch a quick bite to eat or text on the phone or speed to get to their destination faster and cause a collision. All it takes is a split second to lose control of a vehicle or cut off someone because you are not paying attention.
The worst statistic I have seen so far is that worldwide 1.2 million people die every year due to automobile related accidents. This means fathers, mothers, brothers, sisters, and friends do not get to make it home to see their families. People do not really think about how bad this problem is in America until it happens to them. Just open a newspaper in your area and see for yourself.
We can make our roads much safer if everyone just does their part and gives the road their full attention while they are driving. Do not try to text, or eat or any other thing that may distract you while you are driving. Remember it is not just your life you are playing with. Have you or someone you know been injured due to a distracted driver? If so you need an experienced Atlanta automobile accident attorney who knows how to handle these types of cases. Remember if you’ve been “HIT” call NEIL FLIT 877-373-4878
